Supporting New Beginnings Through Community Partnership
Jones Healthcare Group recently welcomed members of the Cross-Cultural Learner Centre (CCLC) to its London facility to recognize a capital campaign contribution supporting Doorways to Dreams—a major community housing initiative focused on addressing housing gaps for newcomers to Canada.

Valy Marochko, Executive Director (far left), and Michelle McKay, Fund Development Manager (far right), from the CCLC joined Jones colleagues Amy Thomson, Senior Vice President, Human Resources (third from left), and Daniela Martinez, Talent Engagement Specialist (second from left), for a photo opportunity marking the partnership.
About Doorways to Dreams
Led by the CCLC, Doorways to Dreams is a multi-year mixed-use housing development planned in London’s Old East Village. The initiative is designed to support newcomers and other Londoners in need of safe, stable, and affordable housing—recognized as a critical foundation for long-term settlement, workforce participation, and community well-being.
The development will include 247 one-, two- and three-bedroom units across a six-storey low-rise and a 24-storey high-rise tower. In addition to residential space, the project will include community-based programming areas, meeting rooms, on-site laundry, fitness facilities, commercial space, and a health and wellness centre.
Construction is expected to begin in spring 2026, with the project delivering long-term impact through both housing stability and neighbourhood revitalization.
“Doorways to Dreams is about more than housing, it’s about creating the foundation newcomers need to build stable lives, contribute to our workforce, and feel a true sense of belonging in London,” says Valy Marochko, Executive Director of the CCLC. “As a fourth-generation, family-owned London company, Jones Healthcare understands that investing in newcomers is an investment in the city’s future, reflecting the belief that inclusive housing is the key to a stronger, more resilient community for everyone. We are deeply grateful for their leadership and support.”
Aligning Community Support and Workforce Inclusion
For Jones, the initiative reflects its focus on supporting newcomers and equity-deserving groups through employment pathways, including ongoing partnerships with organizations such as WILL Employment Solutions.
“In our talent work, we see firsthand how housing stability affects a newcomer’s ability to participate fully in the workforce and community,” says Amy Thomson, Senior Vice President, HR at Jones. “Supporting Doorways to Dreams aligns with the employment partnerships we’re part of—it’s about removing barriers so people can thrive, contribute, and build long-term futures here.”
Through community partnerships such as this, Jones is proud to support initiatives that strengthen belonging, opportunity, and long-term well-being—both in the workplace and across the communities it serves.
