Jones Healthcare Group took home the 2021 WEConnect International Rise to the Challenge Sector Award for Supply Chain – Healthcare, awarded by Johnson & Johnson Inc. at the WEConnect International Day virtual event on June 21.

At this celebratory event, WEConnect International recognizes bold achievements that maximize the power of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in global value chains across 125 countries. This includes honouring trailblazing women-owned businesses that “rise to the challenge” in support of critical STEM sectors.

Award winners are chosen by a jury of representatives from some of the world’s largest buying organizations. Johnson & Johnson selected Jones as having the most compelling story of overcoming challenges to gain market access within the healthcare supply chain sector.

“Johnson & Johnson is committed to igniting the power of women inside and outside of our company, including through our supplier partners,” says Heidi Landry, CPO Supply Chain Management with Johnson & Johnson. “Jones Healthcare Group is a global woman-owned business that has thrived in the STEM field with a clearly differentiated strategy, enabling significant growth across manufacturing sites in three countries, with the consumer and patient at the heart of all that it does.”

“We’re proud to be a certified woman-owned business within the WEConnect International community, and we’re very appreciative of this honour from Johnson & Johnson,” says Chris Jones Harris, Principal, Corporate Development and Co-owner of Jones. “This has been an extremely challenging year for everyone around the world and I’m proud of the way we reset our business to ensure our clients in the pharmaceutical, nutrition and pharmacy sectors had the packaging they needed for consumers and patients.”
